British Made Gifts is a family business in Keighley, West Yorkshire, that has been making gifts for more than 30 years. Everything is printed to order at its own factory, and most of the range is about putting your own photos, names or in-jokes onto something: party banners, dolls, cushions, towels, aprons and luggage covers. It suits anyone planning a birthday, stag or hen do, retirement or office leaving party, and people who'd rather give something daft and personal than another candle.

The shop's best-known product is the Mini Me, a small doll printed with a face from your photo, which you dress by picking the outfit, hair, shoes and accessories. It has also supplied face products to TV shows, and the site lists appearances on Good Morning Britain, This Morning and TOWIE.

Beyond the novelty items there are more practical pieces too: custom flags with a sleeve, tea towels, fleece throws, door mats, kids' hooded towels and memorial gifts. Seasonal ranges come and go, and at the moment the shop is pushing Halloween face masks and decorations alongside early Christmas gifts such as personalised Santa sacks. Klarna and Clearpay are offered at checkout if you want to spread the cost of a bigger order, and the shop also ships to the EU with VAT already included, which helps if you're sending a gift to someone abroad.

What's worth a look

These six cover the cheap party bits through to the more involved custom gifts.

The fabric birthday banners are the easiest win: they start at £9.99 for the smallest size, take any name, and can carry a run of photos for a big birthday. The Create Your Own Mini Me at £24.99 takes longer to set up because you're choosing every detail, but it's the thing people tend to remember. For golfers, the microfibre golf towel at £15.99 prints your own pictures or text on one side and comes with a clip.

Darts fans have a whole section of their own, with personalised wall banners, bucket hats and the Darts & Farts apron, currently down to £15.99.
