Broadband Genie is a UK comparison site for home broadband, TV bundles and mobile broadband. It says it has worked with UK broadband providers since 2004, and it's run by Genie Ventures Ltd in Cambridge. In 2021 it bought Broadband.co.uk, and the two sites merged in 2024, so the old Broadband Genie address now takes you to broadband.co.uk. It's free to use: you pop in your postcode, see the packages available at your address and sign up with the provider, while the site earns commission.

It suits anyone coming to the end of a contract, people moving home, renters who want something short-term, and households fed up with mid-contract price rises. Alongside BT, Sky, Virgin Media, Vodafone and NOW, it lists a long run of smaller full-fibre networks, so it's worth a look if you've never checked what else reaches your street.

Beyond the comparison tables there are plain-English guides on switching, installation, router problems and the landline switch-off, provider-by-provider reviews from customers, and a community forum where you can ask questions. Deals are sorted by popularity by default, but you can re-sort by monthly cost, contract length, set-up cost or speed, and sponsored deals are labelled.

What's worth a look

Here are six deals from the site's own provider pages on the day we checked. Prices are monthly, availability depends on your address, and many rise in later years of the contract, so always read the full details.

The BT Full Fibre 900 package stood out for its £175 BT Reward Card, while the Genie Exclusive Rise Fibre 900Mbps deal adds £10 off for the first four months. If you'd rather not sign up for two years, Vodafone's 5G Outdoor Broadband 50 was showing on a one-month contract.

Current offers

  • Genie Guarantee: buy through Broadband Genie, find the same package cheaper elsewhere, and it says it will match the price and add an extra £10.
  • Genie Exclusives: deals you'll only find on the site, such as Rise Fibre 900Mbps from £27.99 a month with £10 off for four months.
  • Provider rewards: a £175 BT Reward Card on selected BT Full Fibre deals, and a choice of voucher worth up to £90 with Sky's Full Fibre Gigafast (on a countdown when we looked).
  • Free gifts page: a dedicated page rounds up deals with vouchers, gift cards and bill credit.

How to save more

  • Use the fixed-price broadband page if you want a monthly bill that won't rise mid-contract, and compare the "from" prices against what each deal costs in years two and three.
  • Students, renters and anyone moving soon should check short-term and no-contract deals before committing to 24 months.
  • Run the speed test first, so you don't pay for far more speed than your household uses.
