BCP, short for Better Car Parks, began in 1978 with one car park at Gatwick. In 1991 it started selling spaces at airports across the country. Today Park BCP is a booking site rather than a car park: it compares more than 100 car parks at UK airports, from budget park and ride sites to Meet and Greet services where a driver parks the car for you. It has been part of Holiday Extras since 2007.

It suits anyone who drives to the airport and wants to see the options side by side, with prices, transfer times and customer ratings shown together. Alongside parking, it sells airport hotels with or without parking, lounge passes, port parking at Dover and Southampton, travel insurance and London parking.

At Gatwick, BCP lists 21 parking options, with park and ride sites such as Airparks, Purple Parking and APH, and Meet and Greet services from operators including Maple Manor and Holiday Extras. Car park ratings sit next to the prices. For an early start, the airport hotels section can add parking to a room, and its 'Undercover' deals hide the hotel's name until you've booked in return for a lower rate.

Lounge passes start from £12 per person on the lounges page, which covers more than 20 UK airports. Cruise and ferry passengers can book parking near Dover and Southampton.

How to save more

• Price Protection is easy to miss. Claims have to be made within 24 hours, the product must be identical, and prices from loyalty schemes or other special offers don't count.
• BCP charges no amendment fee, so if your flight times change, update the booking online rather than cancelling. You only pay any difference in price.
• Parking is charged per calendar day from midnight, so a one-week trip is usually priced as 8 days. Check your exact times before comparing.
