Sensi Seeds: Amsterdam's heritage seed bank, merch and CBD

Sensi Seeds is one of the best-known names in cannabis culture. Ben Dronkers founded it in Amsterdam in 1985, and the company calls itself the world's oldest and largest cannabis seed bank. Its online shop sells seed packs of famous strains such as Jack Herer and Skunk #1, a range of Sensi CBD oils and capsules, and its own streetwear. The site is for adults only and asks you to confirm you're 18 or over.

UK shoppers can switch the site to pounds, and Sensi's help centre lists the United Kingdom as a country it ships seeds and CBD products to. Bear in mind that in the UK cannabis seeds can only be bought as collectables or souvenirs: germinating them is illegal. So here we're looking at the shop for collectors and fans of the brand.

What's worth a look

Here's a mix of heritage seed packs and Sensi merchandise, with prices as shown in pounds on the site today.

Jack Herer is probably the most famous name in the Sensi catalogue and carries a "Cup winner" badge on the site, with packs from £52.94. Skunk #1 is one of the strains Sensi credits with laying the foundations of Dutch cannabis heritage, and it's much cheaper, from £17.36. Seed prices are "from" prices for the smallest pack.

If you'd rather wear the brand, the Original streetwear range runs from a £3.81 tote bag and beanies from £10.92 up to hoodies at around £40. The Original Logo T-Shirt is £14.40, and there's a limited edition snapback and an emerald green stash jar for collectors. Orders are sent in plain white packaging with no logos or mention of what's inside.

Beyond the classics, the catalogue has newer lines too: Sensi Seeds Research, the Sensi Supreme F1 hybrids and Breeding Grounds, a series made with outside breeders such as Humboldt Seed Company and Fat Beans. The Sensi CBD range covers oils, capsules and chewing gum, and the company says all ingredients are tested and listed.
