VectorStock is an independent stock agency based in New Zealand that has sold only vector graphics since 2007. Its library now holds more than 50 million premium vectors and over a million free ones: icons, illustrations, logos, patterns, invitations and seasonal artwork, all in editable formats such as AI, EPS, PDF and SVG. You can search by keyword, by describing what you want in plain English, or by uploading an image.

It's handy for small businesses, Etsy and print-on-demand sellers, crafters with cutting machines, teachers and anyone who needs artwork that scales cleanly from a sticker to a banner. Prices are in US dollars, so UK buyers pay the converted amount on their card.

VectorStock sells access rather than physical products, so here are the six ways to buy and use its artwork.

For a one-off project, Pay-per-Image is the simplest route: USD $14.99 for a single vector, with no account needed. If you need artwork regularly, the subscription gives unlimited downloads (within a fair use policy) for USD $9.99 a month on the annual plan, or USD $14.99 month to month. Credits sit in between at USD $1 each, with one credit per vector and a 30-credit minimum.

Every paid download comes with the Pro licence. It covers client work, websites, packaging, advertising and merchandise such as T-shirts and mugs, with no print-run cap. If you need to own a design outright, for example to register it as part of a trademark, the Exclusive Buyout costs USD $399 per vector, subject to the artist's approval.

Not confident in Illustrator? The Customize Image service lets you describe the changes you want, such as new colours, your company name in place of placeholder text, or your logo added, and one of VectorStock's artists does the editing. For simpler jobs, the Vector Converter lets you remove elements or export a purchased file at another size or in another format, such as PSD, without any design software. The logos section has editable templates for everything from cafés and fitness studios to photographers and builders.

Current offers

We don't have any voucher codes for VectorStock at the moment. On its own site, the main ways to save are the free vector collection and the annual subscription, which costs a third less per month than paying monthly.

How to save more

• Work out how many images you need. One or two a year suits Pay-per-Image, a handful suits Credits, and anything more regular suits the annual plan.
• Credits stay active for 12 months and can be renewed free for another 12, so a 30-credit top-up won't expire just because you use it slowly.
• Download free vectors to test a style or mock up an idea before you pay. The free licence covers personal and evaluation use only.
