Snoop: a free app that tracks your spending, bills and budgets

Snoop connects your bank accounts through Open Banking, flags bill rises and unused subscriptions, and offers Snoop Plus and an in-app savings account.

Snoop is a UK money management app from Usnoop Limited, part of Vanquis Banking Group since July 2023. You connect your current accounts and credit cards through Open Banking, and Snoop shows everything in one place: balances, transactions, spending by category or retailer, and how this month compares with last.

It suits anyone who wants to see where their money goes without keeping a spreadsheet. That might be a household trying to rein in bills, someone saving for a deposit, or a person who suspects a few old subscriptions are still running. You need to connect at least one bank or credit card account, and Snoop supports all the large UK banks.

What's worth a look

Snoop is an app rather than a shop, so here are six parts of what it offers.

The free app does most of the everyday work. It categorises your spending automatically, lets you set budgets in a couple of taps, sends a weekly reminder of upcoming bills, and warns when a bill might not be covered. It also includes a free credit score check. Snoop Plus costs £5.99 a month or £47.99 a year and adds unlimited custom categories, spending and refund alerts, payday-to-payday tracking, net worth tracking and CSV export.

The Snoop Easy Access Savings Account is provided by Vanquis Bank and opened inside the app. You can open it with £1, and the page currently lists a variable rate of 4.00% AER and FSCS protection. Read the summary box and terms on the page before you apply.

Snoop is open about how it makes money. When you switch supplier through it, the new provider may pay Snoop a commission. It also sells anonymised spending trends to other businesses (it says your personal data is never used) and charges for Snoop Plus. Its switching pages cover broadband, mobile, energy, car, home, pet, travel and life insurance, loans and pensions. You can use them without signing up, but app users get extra offers.

Current offers

We don't have any Snoop codes at the moment. The core app is free. If you want Snoop Plus, the annual plan at £47.99 costs less than paying £5.99 for 12 months.

How to save more

  • Use the free version for a month or two first. Snoop Plus can be added from inside the app later, and cancelled at any time.
  • Turn on bill and contract renewal reminders so you can see price rises and end-of-contract dates coming.
  • Check the regular payments list for subscriptions you no longer use. That's one of the quickest wins the app highlights.

Products, prices and offers checked on the store's own website on 9 Oct 2026. Prices and stock can change.
