Barking Heads makes dog food, and its sister brand Meowing Heads does the same for cats. Both are sold direct from the brand's own website, with recipes built around named meat or fish and no added artificial colours or flavourings. The business is part of the IPN group, and you can buy as a one-off or set up a repeat delivery.

It suits owners who want a mid-priced natural recipe delivered to the door, households with both a dog and a cat, and anyone happy to subscribe to keep the price down. The packaging is cheerful and the recipe names are playful, but the product pages list the ingredients and analysis in full if you want to compare.

What's worth a look
