BLUETTI makes portable power stations: big rechargeable batteries with plug sockets, USB ports and solar inputs. The brand belongs to Shenzhen PowerOak Technology, and its UK store is run by POWEROAK ENERGY UK from Bolsover in Derbyshire. BLUETTI made its name through crowdfunding, with its AC500 raising more than US$12 million on Indiegogo.

The kit suits campervan and caravan owners, festival-goers, anyone working off-grid, and households who want backup power during a cut. Smaller units run a fridge, laptop and lights for a weekend away, while the larger Apex 300 is built as a home battery that can be expanded with extra packs. Delivery is free on all UK orders, normally dispatched within two working days.

What's worth a look

The Elite 100 V2 is the easiest place to start: a 1,024Wh unit with 1,800W output, down from £599 to £399. For longer trips, the Elite 200 V2 doubles the capacity to 2,073.6Wh, and the Elite 300 and Elite 400 go up to 3,014.4Wh and 3,840Wh.

The Apex 300 is aimed at homes rather than campsites, with 2,764.8Wh and 3,840W output, and it was £300 off when we looked. FridgePower is a different idea: an ultra-slim battery designed to keep a fridge running when the mains goes off.

Most of the Elite models can be paired with BLUETTI's solar panels, and the store sells ready-made bundles, such as the Elite 100 V2 with a 200W panel for £699 (was £948). There are also alternator chargers for campervans, which top up a leisure battery while you drive. If you change your mind, unused items can go back within 30 days under the money-back guarantee, and the support line is open on weekdays. You can also spread the cost with Klarna, which the store offers at checkout, and register your product online for warranty support once it arrives.
