Boots Photo is the high street chemist's online photo service. It's run by CEWE, a German photo printing firm founded in 1961, and orders are made at CEWE's UK lab in Warwick. It suits anyone with a phone full of pictures they never get round to printing, and it's especially handy for Christmas presents for grandparents.

You can design online, in the free Boots Photo app or with downloadable software. Online orders are delivered to UK addresses only, and if you just want a few prints in a hurry, you can use a CEWE Photostation in a Boots store.

What's worth a look

These are six of the most popular products, with the starting prices shown on the site today:

The CEWE PHOTOBOOK starts at £8.99 for a small 15cm square book and goes up to XXL landscape and portrait sizes from £61.99. For smaller gifts, a personalised snow globe starts at £7.99, and photo prints start at 10p each. If you still shoot on film or have disposable cameras in a drawer, film developing by post starts at £13.99, with tracked postage both ways and your negatives sent back.

Beyond these, the range covers canvas, acrylic, aluminium and poster wall art, streetmap posters, greetings cards you design yourself, phone cases, desk calendars and planners. With Christmas coming up, there are photo advent calendars too, including versions filled with kinder, Ferrero or Tony's Chocolonely chocolates behind photo doors. The Christmas page groups gift ideas by who you're buying for, from grandparents to dog owners.

• For a handful of prints, use a Photostation in a Boots store and skip delivery altogether.
• Order Christmas photo books and calendars in good time. Everything is made to order at the Warwick lab, and delivery to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands and the Channel Islands takes an extra day.
