Store spotlight: Dowinx, gaming chairs with footrests from a UK warehouse

Dowinx is a chair brand that concentrates on one thing: high-backed, racing-style chairs for gaming and long days at a desk. Most models recline a long way, have a padded footrest that slides out from under the seat, and come with a headrest pillow and lumbar cushion. The brand sells to the UK through its European store, which shows prices in pounds once you pick United Kingdom in the country selector, and UK orders are sent from its UK warehouse.

It suits gamers who like to lean back between matches, students kitting out a bedroom desk, and home workers who want a chair they can put their feet up in at lunchtime. If you want a plain mesh office chair, this is not really the place, but if a recline and footrest appeal, the prices are reasonable.

What's worth a look

• Dowinx PU Leather LS-66D58C Black, currently £87 (was £174). A PU leather chair with mesh panels for airflow, a massage lumbar cushion, a retractable footrest and a recline of up to 150 degrees. It is rated for users up to 330lbs.

How to save more

• Set the country to United Kingdom (GBP £) before you browse, so you see pound prices and the UK sale collection rather than euro prices.
• Compare the sale price with the free shipping threshold. The £87 chair sits under £129, so delivery may be charged on it, while the higher-priced models clear it on their own.
• Returns within 30 days include a free collection, so measure your desk height and space before ordering, but you are not stuck if the chair does not fit.
