Envirofone: sell your old phone or buy refurbished with a 12-month warranty

Envirofone has been buying old mobiles since 2005 and says it has paid more than 4 million people for them. These days it does two jobs. You can sell it the phone, tablet, laptop, smartwatch or console sitting in a drawer, or you can buy a refurbished one from its shop, often the same kind of device another customer has just traded in.

Selling is straightforward. You search for your model, pick the storage and condition, and get an instant quote. Postage is free, either with a Royal Mail QR code you show at the Post Office counter or a collection from your door. Each device is tested individually, damaged ones included, and the money goes into your bank once it's been checked. If the price changes after testing and you don't like the new figure, Envirofone sends the device back free.

Buying suits anyone who wants an iPhone, Galaxy, iPad or MacBook without paying the new price or signing a contract. Every device has a 70-point check, then a cosmetic grade of Pristine, Excellent or Good. All three grades get the same free 12-month warranty, free tracked delivery and 30 days to return. You can pay by card, PayPal, Klarna or Clearpay.

What's worth a look

Six refurbished devices from the Envirofone shop, with the lowest prices shown on 12 October 2026. The "from" price is usually the Good grade with the smallest storage.

The refurbished iPhone 13 is the cheapest way into a recent iPhone here, from £199.99. If you want something newer, the iPhone 15 starts at £339.99 and brings USB-C charging. For laptops, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Apple's M2 chip starts at £669.99.

On the selling side, Envirofone lists what it's paying today for popular models on its sell your iPhone page and the other device pages. It's worth checking the quote before you trade in through a network or retailer.

• EnviroRewards: earn 5% back in points on every trade-in and every refurbished order, rising to 7.5% at Gold. Every 100 points is a £5 voucher.

How to save more

• Sell before you buy. Trading in your old phone earns points, and it unlocks the 200-point bonus when you then buy a refurb. Points vouchers work on orders of £200 or more.
• Clear the drawer. If you've got more than one old device, trade the next one in within 30 days of the first and you get 100 bonus points (£5), as long as each is worth £20 or more.
• Pick the Good grade if you're putting a case on it anyway. It's the cheapest grade, and it has the same 12-month warranty as Pristine.
