Floetica: hand-tied bouquets with same-day London delivery

Floetica is a florist based at New Covent Garden Market in Nine Elms, London. It makes hand-tied bouquets for birthdays, anniversaries, thank-yous and sympathy, and also does flowers for weddings and events. It suits anyone sending flowers to someone in London who wants a same-day delivery and a handwritten card, rather than a boxed bouquet sent by post. Delivery is London only, so it isn't for addresses elsewhere in the UK.

Every bouquet is made to order. You get a WhatsApp photo before it leaves the studio (if you use WhatsApp), and a proof-of-delivery photo once it arrives. The recipient gets a discreet text saying a gift is on its way, without naming the sender or the shop, so the surprise isn't spoiled.

Weekday deliveries run in three slots: morning (10am to 2pm), afternoon (2pm to 6pm) and evening (6pm to 10pm). If you don't know the recipient's address, Floetica can contact them for it via WhatsApp for a £10 fee, and it delivers to hospitals too, though it's worth checking the ward accepts flowers first.

What's worth a look

• Regina, a white and peach rose bouquet, currently from £80. Floetica suggests it as an all-rounder for birthdays, new homes, thank-yous or get-well wishes.
• Charlotte, a lavender, pink and white bouquet, currently £125, popular for birthdays and new babies.
• Velvet Red Rose Bouquet, currently from £105, with larger sizes for bigger gestures.
• Soft Pink Rose Bouquet, currently from £95.
• Floetica Signature Candle in Pine Forest, currently £25, as an add-on to go with the flowers.

Prices can change. Most bouquets come in several sizes, and the starting price is for the smallest one. You can also add a vase for £25 or a printed photo for £12 to go with your card message.

How to save more

• Choose the smallest size of a design you like. Many bouquets, such as Regina, start at £80, and the bigger sizes cost a lot more.
• Delivery starts at £15 and depends on distance from Nine Elms, so check the charge at checkout before you choose an add-on.
• Plan around the cut-offs: order by 5pm on a weekday for same-day delivery, or by 5pm Friday for the weekend. If you want flowers waiting first thing, Floetica suggests booking an evening slot the day before.
