Katruss is a small women's label from Singapore that makes sleepwear, loungewear and underwear only from plant-based fabrics. The fibres come from rose petals, aloe vera leaves, banana and lotus stems, eucalyptus, sugarcane bagasse and orange peel, and each has its own feel, from silky and fluid to matte and textured. Everything is vegan and arrives in FSC-certified packaging. It suits anyone who wants something special to sleep or lounge in, or a considered gift.

The range is small, with around twenty pieces in two collections: Pure Aura, made in Singapore, and Radiant Allure, made in India. Most come in S, M and L, and each product page has a size guide with a UK size column. The site shows prices in euros at first, but you can switch the currency to pounds, and the prices below are in GBP.

What's worth a look

Here are six pieces from the current range, at today's sterling prices.

If you'd like to try a fabric without spending too much, the Serene Matte bralette and panties set at £69 is the cheapest way in. It's made from aloe vera fibre with a soft matte finish. For a full night set, the Sunlit Stripes PJ set with pants is £133. It's woven from orange fibre with satin-look stripes and has corozo buttons.

The limited-edition Shirt with Embroidered Shell is made from lotus fibre, which Katruss describes as rare. The shell motif was drawn by a friend of the brand, and Katruss donates half the proceeds from each one to the Fashion for Cancer community in Singapore.

There's no general sale on the site at the moment. Orders take up to two business days to process, and DHL delivery then takes three to seven business days, so order gifts in good time.

How to save more

• Use your first order to try Katruss, because delivery is free that time. If you're buying more than one piece, put them in the same order.
• Switch the currency to GBP before you browse so you know exactly what you'll pay. Orders are sent from Singapore, so UK import VAT or duty may be charged on delivery.
• Check the UK size column in the size guide carefully. Katruss doesn't accept returns for hygiene reasons, only exchanges of unworn items within 14 days, and sale items can't be exchanged at all.
