Leisure Lakes Bikes started in 1981 as a small windsurfing business run by brothers Tim and Chris Noy at Leisure Lakes, between Preston and Southport. When the wind dropped, people went cycling instead, and the brothers started selling bikes. It's still family-run, with 20 stores stretching from York and Leeds down to Southampton and Newport, plus a big online shop.

It suits most riders: trail and enduro mountain bikers, road and gravel riders, commuters after a hybrid or e-bike, and parents buying a first balance bike. You'll find brands such as Specialized, Trek, Cube, Whyte, Santa Cruz, Orbea and Marin, along with clothing, helmets, parts and workshop servicing in every store. Bikes bought online are boxed by a Cytech-qualified mechanic and come with a tool kit, so all you have to do is straighten the bars and fit the pedals.

What's worth a look

Six picks from bikes to kit, with prices as listed on 15 October 2026.

For a first proper mountain bike, the Cube Aim Pro at £599 has a 100mm suspension fork, Shimano Cues 1x11 gearing and hydraulic disc brakes. If you're stocking up for winter, the sale has cut the Endura MT500 Spray Trouser from £134.99 to £49.99.

Parents of small children should look at the Specialized Hotwalk, a 12-inch balance bike with a low aluminium frame and airless tyres that can't go flat. It's £149. Further up the range, the Marin San Quentin 1 at £849 is a trail hardtail with a longer, slacker frame for rougher ground. If you're not sure about sizing, the stores can help, and many run demo bikes and demo days so you can try before you buy. There's also a Second Hand & Ex-Demo section online, worth checking before you pay full price for a new bike.

Current offers

  • The End of Summer Sale covers e-bikes, mountain bikes and riding kit while stocks last. The Giro Synthe Mips II road helmet, for example, is £79.99 instead of £189.99.
  • Royal Mail 48 delivery is free on orders over £50 (bikes excluded), and Click & Collect to any store is always free.
  • The 0% APR finance options start from a £500 spend, running from 6 months (10% deposit) to 24 months (20% deposit, from £3,000).
  • Christmas Club lets you reserve a kids' bike with nothing to pay upfront, then pay it off whenever suits before collection or delivery.

How to save more

  • Join the free VIP Club. You earn 30 points per £1 (3%) on clothing, parts and accessories, and get a free annual bike check between October and March. Bikes don't earn points.
  • Use Click & Collect for bikes. It's free, and the bike gets a pre-delivery inspection by a mechanic before you pick it up.
  • If you've found the same item cheaper at another UK bike shop, ask about a price match. It has to be in stock, in the same size and colour, and you'll need the quote in writing. Black Friday deals don't count.

Products, prices and offers checked on the store's own website on 15 Oct 2026. Prices and stock can change.
