Lounge Pass: pre-booked airport lounges from £11 a visit

Lounge Pass is a booking site for airport lounges. Rather than paying for a yearly membership, you buy one visit for a set date and time at a lounge of your choice, then show your confirmation at the door. It has been running since 2003 and is part of the Collinson Group, the company behind Priority Pass. The site covers lounges at 48 UK airports and several hundred more abroad, so it suits holidaymakers and occasional travellers who want somewhere quieter to wait without a premium ticket.

Booking takes four steps: choose the airport and lounge, enter passenger details, pay, then collect your confirmation. Each listing shows separate prices for adults, children and infants, the opening hours and any rules about children or dress codes. Most visits allow up to three hours, and drinks and light refreshments are generally included, though some lounges charge for extras.

What's worth a look

• Aspire Lounge, Manchester Terminal 3: currently £37.99 for adults and £31.99 for children, with infants at £0.00. It was the cheapest adult price we saw at Manchester.
• Escape Lounge, Manchester Terminal 3: currently £48.99 for adults and £34.99 for children, with infants free. The listing describes a modern lounge with a fireside seating area.
• My Lounge, Gatwick North Terminal: currently £40 for adults and £21 for children, which makes it one of the more affordable options at Gatwick for families.
• Plaza Premium Lounge, Gatwick North Terminal: currently £46 per adult or child. If you have a long wait, there's also a 3-6 hour extended stay at £75.
• Aspire Lounge (Gate 16), Edinburgh: currently £46.99 for adults and £31.99 for children, with infants free.

Prices change with the date and time you choose, so check the figure on the booking page before you pay.

Current offers

• Lounge access starts from £11 per person, per visit, depending on the airport.
• Free cancellation on individual bookings cancelled in writing at least 24 hours before your lounge visit. Inside 24 hours, there's no refund.
• Several UK lounges list infants at £0.00, so a baby can come along at no extra cost where children are allowed.

How to save more

• Compare every lounge at your terminal before you book. At Manchester Terminal 3, adult prices ranged from £37.99 to £48.99 for similar visits.
• Add your outbound and return lounges to the same basket. Lounge Pass covers both ends of many trips, so you can sort the whole journey at once.
• If your flight is delayed often or you arrive very early, an extended-stay option can work out cheaper than booking two visits.
