Masaltos makes men's shoes with a hidden lift inside. Each pair has a 3cm internal wedge plus an outer heel of 3 to 4cm, so most styles add 7cm to your height (a few add 6cm) while looking like ordinary shoes. The brand is run by Neman Europe, a company in Seville that has sold shoes by catalogue since 1993 and online since 1994. It has a single shop on Calle Feria in Seville and ships everywhere else from Spain.

It suits men who'd like a little extra height for work, a wedding or everyday wear without anyone noticing. The range runs from sneakers and boat shoes to dress shoes and welted boots, mostly in leather and often fully leather-lined. The UK catalogue shows prices in euros with an approximate pound figure beside them, so your final cost will depend on the exchange rate. Product pages also show how many pairs are in stock and list the exact height each style adds.

For a relaxed summer-to-autumn shoe, the Adriatico blue boat shoe is made from oiled leather on a light rubber sole and adds 7cm. If you want something built to last, the Flavio boot sits in the Goodyear range, where the sole is stitched on rather than glued.

There's also a Grooms section of dress shoes for weddings, and accessories such as leather belts, socks, laces and braces, so you can put a whole outfit together in one order.
