Pets Calm Down is a British family business based across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. It sells dog products online and is best known for its jars of herbal soft-chew treats with cheeky names, which come in chicken, salmon or pork flavours. Around them it has built a small range of dry food, grooming products and toys.

The shop suits dog owners who like buying from a small UK business and would rather pick up treats, food and a toy or two in one order. Orders go out by Royal Mail within one business day, and the shop only delivers within the UK. This article covers what's on sale and what it costs; if you're worried about your dog's health or behaviour, your vet is the person to ask.

What's worth a look

• Herbal soft-chew dog treats: currently £23.99 for a jar of 135 treats. There are several varieties, each with its own herbal recipe, and two jars bring the cost per serving down from about 22p to 20p.
• Sensitive Adult Dry Food: currently £19.99 for 3kg, £35.99 for 6kg or £59.99 for 12kg. Made in England with sweet potato, apple and carrot, and free from soya, grain and gluten.
• Slow Feeder Dog Bowl: currently £9.99. A ridged bowl with a non-slip base that makes fast eaters take their time.
• Treats Puzzle: currently £14.99. A hide-the-treat puzzle that's easy to clean and keeps a dog busy indoors.
• Paw & Nose Balm: currently £13.29 for an 80g tin. Handmade in the UK with beeswax and shea butter.

How to save more

• Buy dog food in the biggest bag you can store. The 12kg bag works out at about £5 a kilo, against about £6.66 a kilo for the 3kg bag.
• Add the slow feeder or puzzle to a treat order to pick up the multibuy or add-on prices and clear the free-delivery threshold at the same time.
• Read the refund policy before ordering. It offers a refund within 30 days of delivery, minus shipping, and limits refunds to one jar.
