ZOSI: DIY security camera kits with free UK delivery and no monthly fee

ZOSI makes do-it-yourself security cameras and has spent around 15 years in video surveillance. Its UK store sells complete kits you can fit yourself: wired PoE systems with a network video recorder, Wi-Fi cameras and wireless systems, and traditional analogue CCTV with a DVR. It suits homeowners, landlords and small shops who want to record on their own hard drive rather than pay a monthly cloud fee.

Everything works with the free ZOSI Smart app, which gives you live view, playback, two-way audio and motion alerts on your phone, and lets several family members watch at once. Orders ship from a UK warehouse, delivery is free, and cameras and recorders come with a two-year warranty.

What's worth a look

Here are six products from the ZOSI UK site, at the prices shown today.

For a first camera, the C680 Window Camera is the simplest: it sits inside against the glass and watches the drive or garden without any outdoor wiring. If you want proper 24/7 coverage, the C225 4K PoE system starts at £249.99 and uses a single Ethernet cable to each camera for both power and video, which tends to be more reliable than Wi-Fi.

The analogue C419 kit from £89.99 is a cheap way to cover a home or small business if you're happy with 1080p, while the C186A wireless system suits places where running cables would be awkward. It records to a 1TB drive in the recorder and has colour night vision, so you get a clearer picture after dark.

Indoors, the C688 two-pack at £25.99 is handy for keeping an eye on a hallway, a nursery or a pet while you're out. It records to a memory card of up to 256GB, so there's nothing extra to pay each month. The C296B pan/tilt camera from £49.99 pans and tilts, so one camera can cover a whole room or driveway.

A practical point: the UK store only ships to UK addresses, orders are processed within one working day, and delivery usually takes three to six working days. ZOSI's support is by email, and its listed hours are on US Pacific time, so expect replies overnight.

Current offers

We don't have any ZOSI codes yet, but the site has plenty on:

• The Fall Sale is on, with up to 55% off and free shipping.
• The Deals page shows the C680 Window Camera for £34.99 (usually £49.99) with the code ZOSIUK printed on the page.
• Buy a 16-channel PoE system and you get two PoE cameras free.
• The 2MP Bullet System is £108, with 10% off applied at checkout.

How to save more

• Check the Deals page as well as the homepage: some of the same kits are a few pounds cheaper there, and the flash sale prices change often.
• Plan your cable runs before choosing a kit. PoE needs an Ethernet cable to each camera, while Wi-Fi kits need a strong signal at every mounting point.
• Buy a bundle with the hard drive already fitted if you want continuous recording, as it's usually cheaper than adding one later.
