About Dr Jackson's
Dr Jackson's Natural Skincare was launched in 2012 by Dr S. J. Jackson, a pharmacognosist who studies plant-based ingredients. He held research posts at King's College London, including in its Department of Dermatology, and at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and spent years learning about plants from communities in the Amazon, Indonesia and Sub-Saharan Africa. The brand's story ties together Sub-Saharan Africa and east London's Shoreditch, and its interest in the kigelia or 'sausage tree' fruit inspired the range.
The products are numbered rather than named: 01 Day Cream, 02 Night Cream, 03 Everyday Oil, 04 Coconut Melt, 05 Face and Eye Essence, 06 Body Toning Essence, 07 Face Wash, 08 Intense Restoring Eye Cream and 09 Hand Cream. They use botanicals such as baobab and marula oils, calendula, rose water and aloe, and the brand describes the range as vegan, cruelty-free and dermatologically tested. There's also a travel kit, travel sizes, gift sets and a small range of herbal teas.
The UK shop prices in pounds, with separate US and EU storefronts. UK standard delivery takes 2 to 3 business days and is free on orders of £45 or more. You choose two free samples with every order, and products can be returned within 30 days of receipt. New customers are offered 15% off their first order.
