About Hacienda Doka
Hacienda Doka is a coffee estate in Sabanilla, in the Poás area of Alajuela province in Costa Rica's Central Valley. Its coffee is grown at around 1,350 to 1,450 metres in volcanic soil near Poás Volcano, and its processing plant was recognised as architectural heritage in 2003; the estate describes it as home to Costa Rica's oldest wet coffee mill.
The online shop sells the estate's own coffee, ground or whole bean, from everyday roasts such as the Breakfast Blend, Dark Roast and Espresso Roast to Peaberry AA and limited lots like the Jacaranda light roast and honey- and natural-process coffees. There are also brewing accessories, gift sets and gift cards. Prices are in US dollars. Coffee ships from Costa Rica through a logistics centre in Miami; free shipping is offered only to the continental US, and the site doesn't confirm delivery to the UK.
If you're visiting Costa Rica, the estate runs guided coffee tours from the seedbeds through the heritage mill and roasting plant, ending with a tasting of eight blends, plus full-day trips combining the tour with Poás Volcano or La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Tours are booked through the Hacienda Doka tours site.
