About Mazuma Business
Mazuma Business is the trade side of Mazuma, the Lancaster-based phone recycler that has been buying old handsets from the public for around two decades. Mazuma Mobile Limited was incorporated in 2006, and the company says it has bought and sold more than 8 million devices. The business service applies the same model to companies with a drawer full of old work phones: it collects them, wipes them and pays for the ones that still have value.
It is aimed at businesses rather than individuals. You fill in a form or ring the team, and Mazuma arranges collection by a tracked vehicle. Technicians test and grade each device at the warehouse before confirming a quote, and data is erased with Blancco, Blackbelt and Phonecheck software; erasure certificates are available on request for specific devices. Mazuma is also the exclusive UK partner for Early Upgrade's DataBot, a robot that drills out only the data chip so the rest of a broken device can be reused.
It accepts iPhones from the iPhone 7 onwards, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watches, Samsung phones from the S10 and Google Pixels from the Pixel 6, with a minimum of 10 devices per order. Prices are fixed rather than "up to" figures, provided devices arrive as described. Payment goes to a business bank account only, by bank transfer or cheque, 30 days after the invoice date. Devices must have iCloud, Google, MDM and other locks removed before they're sent, or Mazuma can't pay for them.
