Swift Publisher is a desktop publishing and page layout app for the Mac, made by BeLight Software. BeLight was started by four friends, two developers and two marketers, who wanted to make Mac apps that are easy to pick up. The company lists its headquarters in Odesa, Ukraine, with a US office in Chicago, and its other apps include Live Home 3D, Amadine, Art Text and Get Backup Pro.
The app is aimed at people who need to lay out print projects without learning a professional design suite. It covers brochures and flyers, business cards, calendars, newsletters, booklets, CD and DVD labels, envelopes and address labels, and it comes with more than 500 templates and 2,000 clipart images. Features include master pages, two-page spreads, linked text boxes, layers, mail merge from Apple Contacts and support for hundreds of label paper layouts and disc-printing printers. You can print at home or export to PDF, PNG, TIFF, JPEG or EPS for a print shop, in RGB or CMYK with bleed.
Swift Publisher is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. On the official site it costs $19.99 for a single-user licence, and prices are shown in US dollars. There is a free trial, an optional Extras Pack of 40,000+ images and 100 fonts, a Family Pack for up to five household Macs, and discounts for students, educators and non-profits. It needs macOS 10.12 or later and runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It is also sold on the Mac App Store.
Students, staff at educational institutions and non-profit organisations can apply for 30% off (1 to 10 licences), with bigger discounts for larger volumes.
| Delivery | Instant digital download; the licence code is emailed after purchase. The Extras Pack download is over 3GB. |
|---|---|
| Returns | BeLight offers a full refund for claims made within 30 days of purchase on swiftpublisher.com, with no processing fee; the licence code stops working once refunded. Mac App Store purchases are refunded through Apple. |
| App | Swift Publisher is a Mac app (macOS 10.12 or later); an iPhone and iPad version is in development. |
|---|---|
| Ways to pay | The refund policy mentions PayPal, Apple Pay and bank cards; prices are in US dollars. |
