BiMPY is a UK phone insurance provider that has been around since 2011. It's based in London, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and sells everything online: you pick your phone, see the price straight away and can be covered the same day. It suits anyone who wants cover for a new, contract, SIM-free or refurbished phone without being tied into a long contract.
Every policy runs on a rolling 30-day basis and is paid by monthly Direct Debit, so you can cancel when you like with no cancellation fee. There are two levels of cover. Essential covers theft, accidental damage, cracked screens, liquid damage, mechanical breakdown and use abroad. Full Cover adds loss. Both include unauthorised use up to £1,000 and cover immediate family who live with you and use the phone.
What's worth a look
BiMPY has a page for each phone it insures, with the price for each storage size. Here are six popular ones, priced from the cheapest model and cover level on each page:

iPhone 16 InsuranceCovers iPhone 16e, 16, Plus, Pro and Pro Max.From £4/monthView at BiMPY

Motorola Edge Phone InsuranceCovers Edge 50, 60 and 70 series models. From £4/monthView at BiMPY
Most everyday phones start at £4 a month. On the iPhone 17 page, for example, Essential Cover starts at £4 a month and Full Cover at £5. Folding and premium models cost more: the Galaxy Z Flip7 starts at £8 a month. Phones must be under 36 months old and bought from a VAT-registered UK retailer or network, and that includes refurbished phones. Phones bought from private sellers on sites like eBay or Gumtree aren't covered.
How claims work
You make a claim online, 24 hours a day, by logging into your account and filling in the claim form. There's also a phone line if you want help with the process. You'll need proof of purchase showing your phone's IMEI number, and for theft or loss you must report it to the police within 24 hours to get a crime reference number. If possible, BiMPY replaces phones like for like. Repairs come with a 90-day warranty and replacements with a 12-month warranty. Cover also applies abroad for up to 90 days a year.
Current offers
The main deal is BiMPY's 3for2 offer. Add at least three phones to one quote on the same level of cover and the cheapest policy is free. BiMPY's own example is three iPhone 16e phones on Full Cover at £5 each: £15 a month drops to £10, which saves £60 a year. That makes it worth looking at for families, couples or housemates who are upgrading around the same time.
How to save more
- Pick Essential Cover if you don't need loss cover. It's the cheaper option and still covers theft, damage and breakdown.
- Check the excess before you buy. It's linked to your monthly premium, starting at £50 on the lower premiums, and loss claims carry an extra £50.
- Keep your receipt showing the phone's IMEI number. You'll need it as proof of ownership if you make a claim. To find the IMEI, dial *#06#.
