Retouch4me makes AI retouching tools for people who edit a lot of portraits: wedding and event photographers, school and newborn studios, e-commerce shoots and freelance retouchers. Each tool does one job, like removing blemishes, smoothing creases or cleaning a studio backdrop, and is designed to keep natural skin texture rather than giving everyone a plastic finish. The plugins work inside Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One and Affinity Photo, and there are video versions for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.

There are two ways to pay. Local plugins are bought once with a perpetual licence and run on your own computer with no internet needed. The cloud tools, including the all-in-one Apex plugin and the Arams culling app, run on credits that come with a yearly subscription. Prices on the site are in US dollars, so your bank may add a small conversion fee.

The company behind it, RELU OÜ, is based in Tallinn, Estonia. Its team first built the 3D LUT Creator colour-grading app in 2013 and launched Retouch4me in 2019. It says it trains its AI models in-house on its own examples of professional retouching, and doesn't train them on customers' photos.

What's worth a look

Six tools and bundles from the Retouch4me range to start with.

If you only buy one plugin, Heal is the obvious place to start: it clears blemishes, spots, post-acne marks and enlarged pores automatically, and costs $145 for a lifetime licence. Dodge&Burn goes further, evening out eye bags, folds and uneven light on skin the way a high-end retoucher would, for $179.

For volume work, Apex combines 15 tools in one cloud plugin with a real-time preview, so it doesn't need a powerful computer. It's included in the subscriptions, which start with the Start plan at $169 a year for 2,400 retouching credits, and unused credits roll over for up to five years while you stay subscribed.
