Avery Row is a British baby brand based in Bath, set up by two friends and mothers, Helen and Fiona, who say the idea began over a coffee in 2015. It designs baby and toddler textiles in its own print collections, such as Little Farm, Riverbank and Wildflower Garden, and uses organic cotton, recycled polyester and FSC certified wood.

It suits parents who want their changing bag and nursery kit to look good together, and it's a handy shop for baby shower and new-baby presents, since many pieces can be personalised and there are ready-made gift sets. Prices sit at the premium end, so the bundles and the Offers section are worth knowing about.

UK standard delivery is £4.95 and free on orders over £80, with next-day and Saturday delivery available. Avery Row also ships to the EU and countries including Australia, Canada and Hong Kong.

The Baby Changing Backpack is the big-ticket item at £160, but it comes with a mini changing mat, pram clips and a thermal pouch, and it's made from recycled nylon in a plain black that goes with any pram. For a present, the New Baby Essentials Gift Set bundles a nappy caddy, travel changing mat, muslins, a swaddle, a wipes cover and a knitted sheep toy.

Smaller buys work well as add-on presents. The organic muslin squares come in sets of three for £24, and the Greenhouse Gingham changing mat has a water-repellent, machine-washable cover. The Christmas range adds family pyjamas, stockings, present sacks and fabric advent calendars, several of which can be personalised with a name.
