Trek-Expert is an online outdoor shop with a UK store priced in pounds. It sells gear and clothing for hiking, trail running, climbing and mountaineering, winter sports, water sports and fishing, from brands including Terra Nova, Salewa, Snow Peak, Vaude, Husky, Regatta and KingCamp. Its customer service is based in France, and you have 30 days to change your mind about an order.

It suits walkers and campers who like to compare several brands in one place, from a lightweight trekking tent to a big family shelter. Many products show a reduced price, and there's a Destocking section for clearance lines.

What's worth a look

Here are six tents from Trek-Expert's tents and shelters range, from a quick-pitch festival tent to a family tent for four.

For backpacking, the Terra Nova Helm Compact 2 is a lightweight two-person tent at £315.32. The Salewa Denali III is £260.50, down from £291.83, and Trek-Expert describes it as built for hiking with a focus on durability and ventilation. The Husky Baron 3 (£249.48) is designed for bike tours and treks and sleeps three.

For campsite trips, the Regatta Instant three-person tent is the standout price, at £78.66, down from £154.25, and it's quick to put up. The KingCamp Sorrente family tent sleeps four and is £253.82, down from £322.89. The Tambu Outdoor Khema is a lightweight two-person dome tent at £118.10.

The tents range also includes sleeping bags and shelters, and the Hiking section covers trekking poles and other equipment, so you can kit out a whole trip in one order.

When choosing, think about how you'll carry the tent. If you're walking between campsites or wild camping, weight and packed size matter most, which points to the Terra Nova, Salewa or Tambu. If you're driving to a campsite and staying put, a roomier tent like the KingCamp Sorrente gives a family space to spread out. And if you just need something for a festival or a weekend away, the Regatta Instant keeps setting up simple and costs a fraction of the others.
