BIOptimizers is a supplement brand set up by two former personal trainers, Wade Lightheart and Matt Gallant, who started selling enzymes, protein and fitness programmes together in 2004. Its UK web shop is run by Vipertech Ltd, prices everything in pounds and ships from within the UK by Royal Mail, so there are no import charges to worry about.

The range is mainly capsules sold by the bottle, plus a few powders and bundled stacks. It suits shoppers who already know which product they want and would like to buy it in bulk or on a repeat order, because that's where the savings are. The site sorts products by category (magnesium, enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, protein and collagen) and you can compare products side by side on a comparison page. Many of the products are listed as vegan, gluten-free or sugar-free, and the site says they are made in the USA. Product pages also show customer ratings and the full list of pack sizes.

What's worth a look

• Magnesium Breakthrough: the brand's best-known product, a capsule containing seven forms of magnesium. The site lists it as vegan-friendly, gluten-free and soy-free.
• P3-OM Probiotic Breakthrough: a probiotic capsule. A 60-capsule bottle is currently £29.99, and the 120-capsule bottle is on sale at £19.99 instead of £54.99.
