Callaway is one of the biggest names in golf, and its UK and European online shop sells the whole range direct, priced in pounds and sent from a warehouse in Swindon. It suits golfers who know what they want and are happy to buy from the brand itself, whether that's a new driver, a dozen tour balls or a complete set for someone just starting out.

Behind the site is Callaway Golf Europe, based in Chessington, Surrey. As well as clubs and balls, there are bags, headwear and gloves, Odyssey putters, custom and personalised options, a pre-owned section and an outlet for older models. Everything on the UK site is priced in pounds, and Callaway says there are no extra import duties or VAT to pay on UK orders. If you're not sure which club fits your swing, there are online selector tools and a retailer finder for fittings at Callaway performance centres.

What's worth a look

Here are six picks from the UK site, with today's prices.

The headline launch is the Quantum Max Driver, built around Callaway's Tri-Force Face. Last season's Elyte family is now reduced, so the Elyte Driver is £398.30 instead of £569. For newer golfers, the online exclusive Mavrik 17-piece set includes 11 graphite-shafted clubs, headcovers and a bag, and the XJ junior sets start at £259.

Golf balls are the easiest thing to stock up on. A dozen Chrome Tour balls starts at £49.99, and there are other models such as Chrome Soft, Supersoft and Warbird. You can also have balls personalised with your own text, although personalised orders take around 10 days to process and can't be returned. Women golfers have their own section, including the REVA complete sets and women's versions of the Elyte and Quantum clubs.
