Camera Store UK is a family-run camera shop based in Repton, Derbyshire, trading as Middleton Hill Ltd. Owner Paul Wright runs it with his daughter Claudia, son Leyton and a small team, and the business sells only brand-new, UK-stock equipment with a UK warranty.

That last point is the reason to look here. Plenty of cheap camera listings come from sellers based overseas, which can mean import charges, slow delivery and awkward warranty claims. Camera Store UK is a UK VAT-registered company selling under UK consumer law, and the price you see includes VAT with no duties to pay on delivery. It suits beginners buying a first proper camera, vloggers, and enthusiasts after a new body or lens from Canon, Nikon, OM System or Hasselblad.

What's worth a look

Here are six cameras and kits from across the range, with prices as shown on the site today.

The Canon PowerShot V1 at £596 is a compact built for video, with a 1.4-inch-type sensor and a cooling fan, so it's a good fit for vloggers who don't want interchangeable lenses. If you're starting out in a particular kind of photography, the themed kits are worth comparing: the Beginner Wildlife kit pairs a Canon EOS R10 with the RF 100-400mm lens, a bag, a compact tripod, a filter and a memory card for £1,567.

At the top end, the Hasselblad X2D II 100C medium format camera is £7,827, while the OM SYSTEM OM-5 Mark II is a smaller mirrorless option at £937.

Beyond cameras, the accessories menu covers camera bags, flashes, mount adapters, grips, microphones, lens filters, memory cards, tripods, batteries and cables, plus a few photography books. Each product page lists suggested extras, such as a fast memory card or a bag, so it's easy to add what you need in one order. Most electronics come with a two-year manufacturer or in-house warranty, and warranty claims are handled by the shop itself rather than passed to an overseas seller.

Current offers

Camera Store UK doesn't run discount codes, but several product pages show a saving against the manufacturer's RRP. The Nikon COOLPIX P1100 is £811 against an RRP of £1,049 (23% less), and the OM SYSTEM OM-5 Mark II body is £937 against an RRP of £1,099 (15% less). UK delivery is free on everything, and mainland orders placed before 4pm on a weekday are sent for next-day delivery.

How to save more

  • Use the Price Match promise: if another UK-based retailer selling UK-spec stock is cheaper on comparable terms, contact the shop and it will try to beat it.
  • Compare a themed kit with buying the camera alone. The kits add a bag, tripod, filter and memory card you'd otherwise buy separately.
  • Don't install a firmware update until you're sure you're keeping the camera: the returns policy says updated items can't be sent back, and you have 14 days to cancel.
