Cashmere Boutique has been selling cashmere online since 1999, and its shop covers just about everything you might want in the fibre: sweaters and cardigans for women and men, long robes, coats, pashmina wraps, scarves, socks and big throws for the sofa. It suits anyone after a proper winter layer, or a gift that feels a bit special, without going to a designer label.

The business is based in North America and ships from a warehouse in North Carolina, but you can switch the site's country selector to United Kingdom to see every price in pounds. Pashminas, sweaters, robes and blankets are made in Nepal, while some accessories and coats are made in China, and each product page tells you which.

What's worth a look

• Women's Cashmere Cardigan Twin Sweater Set: a short-sleeved round-neck top with a matching button cardigan, in 12 colours. Currently £153, against a regular price of £306. The shop notes it runs small, so it suggests going up a size.
• Men's Crew Neck Cashmere Sweater: a plain everyday jumper in five colours, currently £107.

• Choose your delivery option with care. Priority International is tracked and takes 3 to 5 business days, while First Class Mail International is slower and has no tracking or insurance, so it may not be worth the risk on an expensive piece.
• Get the size right first time. Returns must be sent back to the US within 15 days of receipt, and the original shipping cost isn't refunded, so use the size guide and the fit notes on each product page.
