CloudTopper is a small online bedding brand run from Southfields in south-west London. Its main product is a thick mattress topper: 10cm of box-stitched microfibre filling with deep elastic corner straps, made in the five standard UK sizes and washable at 40°C. Around that it sells the things you need to make a topper work, such as extra-deep fitted sheets and pillows, plus a couple of blankets.

It's aimed at anyone whose mattress feels too firm or a bit tired but who isn't ready to buy a new one. Everything is sold through its own website only, delivery is UK-only and free next day, and returns are accepted for 100 days.

The Luxury Thick Mattress Topper starts at £66.90 for a single and goes up to super king. If you add one, a standard fitted sheet may not stretch over the extra depth, which is what the 40cm Deep-Fitted Sheet in Egyptian cotton is for. The Everyday Bedding Bundle groups several pieces in one size, so compare it against buying them separately.

For colder nights there's a faux-fur Luxury Blanket in cream or pink, and a Weighted Blanket filled with glass beads in double and king sizes, with flannel on one side and sherpa on the other. The Pillow Set of 2 uses a duck feather and down fill. CloudTopper also takes enquiries from hotels and property managers through its trade and hospitality page. One thing to know: the brand isn't stocked in any shops, so you can't try a topper in person, which is where the long returns window helps.
