Custom Splashbacks makes kitchen and bathroom splashbacks to order at its factory near Ivybridge in Devon. Rather than buying a fixed panel and trimming it, you type in your width and height, add any socket or panel cut-outs, and the price updates on the product page. It suits anyone redoing a kitchen on a budget, renters wanting an easy-clean wall behind the hob, or people who simply want a colour that tiles don't come in.

There are three main materials. Acrylic is light, can go behind electric and induction hobs at the recommended distance, and can be cut around sockets. Toughened glass comes in set sizes. Aluminium composite gives a brushed or metallic look and, according to the company, is the most durable choice if you don't need a printed design.
