Devon Duvets is a family business that makes natural bedding by hand in its workshop near Plymouth. It started with Dick and Pauline and a Devon smallholding, and every duvet, pillow and topper is still individually made by its seamstresses from traceable British wool, British alpaca or Botanic, a plant-based fibre containing TENCEL Lyocell. It suits people who sleep hot under synthetic duvets, anyone who'd like to avoid chemicals and synthetic linings, and couples who can't agree on how warm the bed should be.

Its Lightweight British Wool Duvet has been picked by IndyBest as best summer duvet six years running, and every filled product comes with a five-year makers guarantee.

Beyond the adult range there's a junior collection with smaller duvets, pillows and a cot-bed mattress enhancer, natural wool pet beds, Pima cotton bed linen, and small gifts such as an eye pillow and lavender sachets. Because everything is made in-house, the team can also make bespoke sizes for unusual beds, campervans, caravans and boats; bespoke pieces are usually ready within two weeks.

If you're choosing your first wool duvet, the lightweight 4–7 tog suits warm sleepers and well-insulated homes, while the medium weight 8–14 tog is the one for colder rooms, and the brand suggests it can work all year for chilly sleepers. The split duvet starter set lets each half of the bed have a different weight. Pillows come in adjustable and folding styles, so you can change the height by adding or removing wool or folding layers.
