eve sleep was one of the first brands to sell mattresses online in the UK, launching in 2015 with its sunny yellow branding and mattresses delivered rolled up in a box. The original company went into administration in 2022 and the brand was bought by Bensons for Beds, which now runs the website and handles deliveries with its own two-person crews.

It suits anyone who would rather try a mattress at home than bounce on one for five minutes in a showroom. Every new mattress comes with a 200-night trial and a 10-year warranty, delivery is free to the room of your choice across most of Great Britain, and you can spread the cost with Klarna. Alongside mattresses there are bed frames, bedside tables, pillows, duvets and protectors.

The premium hybrid is eve's best seller, combining pocket springs with memory foam, and eve says it's one of three of its mattresses rated a Which? Best Buy. If you're not sure how firm you like your bed, the wunderflip premium hybrid has a zip-off comfort layer you can turn over to switch between softer and firmer, which eve says is endorsed by the Good Housekeeping Institute for 2026. The wunderflex duvet is a neat idea for couples who sleep at different temperatures, as each side can be made up differently, with 4.5 and 9 tog layers to mix and match.

• Decide within the first 40 nights if you can. Returns are free up to then, but after that a collection fee applies, up to night 200.
