eBay is less a shop than a huge market hall. Founded in California in 1995, it lets businesses and private sellers list almost anything, from car parts and sofas to phones and trainers, sold at auction or at a fixed Buy It Now price. That range is the appeal, and also why it pays to shop it with a plan: every seller sets their own price, postage and returns policy, so the same item can cost quite different amounts two listings apart.

It suits bargain hunters, anyone happy to buy refurbished, and people looking for parts or out-of-production items that high-street shops no longer stock. This guide covers the parts of eBay UK that make saving easier. Deals and prices below were checked on eBay's own Deals pages on 16 October 2026.

What's worth a look

These are the Deals pages and events we'd start with; prices change by the hour, so open them to see what's on today.

The main Deals page is the best starting point. It mixes a daily spotlight deal, trending deals and featured deals, with most listings showing free P&P. Many of the bigger savings are on refurbished goods, marked 'Refurbished on eBay'. When we looked, a refurbished Dyson Ball Animal was £169 against an RRP of £279.99, and a refurbished Shark FlexStyle 6-in-1 air styler was £149.99 against £329.99. The Electronics deals page had refurbished iPhone 16e handsets from £458.24.

Current offers

  • Up to 45% off car care, including T-Cut and Goodyear.
  • Up to 50% off Sofology furniture, featured on the Home & Garden deals page.
  • The 'We save you Money – Up to 80% off' collection, with more than 6,000 listings such as Cotswold Winstone leather walking boots at £34.99 (RRP £119.99). The RRPs are the seller's own, so compare before you buy.
  • Refurbished deals on the Deals page, including the Dyson Ball Animal at £169 and the Shark FlexStyle at £149.99, both with free P&P.

How to save more

  • Pay at eBay checkout. That's what keeps you covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee: if an item doesn't arrive, is faulty or damaged, or doesn't match the listing, you can get a full refund including the original postage for 30 days from delivery. Vehicles, services, digital content, tickets and vouchers are excluded.
  • Sign up for eBay's marketing emails to receive vouchers. They show in the Summary section of My eBay, and you can use one voucher per purchase, so save it for a bigger order.
  • Compare the total, not the headline price. Two sellers can list the same item with different postage and returns terms, and a slightly higher price with free returns can work out better.
