Free Soul: protein powders, creatine and greens made for women

Free Soul is a UK nutrition brand that makes powders, bars, gummies and capsules aimed at women. It began with a single vegan protein blend, created by Rohini Sofat and her son Arjun on the outskirts of London, and the range has since grown to cover protein, creatine, collagen, greens, electrolytes and a long list of capsule products. Everything is sold through its own website, either as a one-off purchase or on subscription.

It suits anyone who wants a flavoured protein shake or powder to add to a morning routine, and people who like to buy the same items each month without reordering. The site has a short quiz and comparison pages if you are not sure which powder to pick.

What's worth a look

• Vegan Protein Blend: the product the brand started with, in chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel and berry flavours. Currently £27.49 (prices can change).
• CreaGlow: Collagen + Creatine Powder: a powder that combines creatine and collagen in one scoop, in mango or raspberry. Currently £34.99.
• Pure Creatine: Monohydrate Powder: plain or mango flavour, currently £12.49 for a two-month supply, with larger six-month and 12-month tubs at £34.99 and £64.99.
• Free Soul Hydrate Electrolyte Powder: flavoured electrolyte sachets in lychee, citrus, cherry, mixed berry and more. Currently £32.49.
• Vegan Protein Bars: a box of 12 is currently £23.74, and there is a three-bar trial box at £7.99 if you want to try a flavour first.

There are also accessories, such as the Free Soul Shaker at £14.99, and bundles that group several products together.

Current offers

Free Soul runs a landing page offer of 20% off with a free shaker and a free mystery gift, and has run free-gift offers on its Protein and CreaGlow ranges. On its own site, it currently shows these offers:

• 20% off when you subscribe, plus free UK delivery on your first subscription order.
• Free standard UK delivery on orders over £35. Otherwise standard delivery is £2.99, and next-day delivery is £3.99 for orders placed before 5pm on a weekday.
• 10% off your first order when you sign up to the email list.
• A refer-a-friend scheme, where your friend gets a discount on their first order and you get a reward too.
• Discounts for NHS, emergency services, social care and armed forces workers through Blue Light Card.

How to save more

• If you use a product regularly, compare the subscription price with the one-off price before you check out. The 20% subscription saving usually adds up faster than one-off codes.
• Try to bring your basket over £35 so standard delivery is free, for example by adding a trial box of bars to a single tub.
• Buy the larger creatine tubs if you already know you like the product, as the six-month and 12-month sizes work out cheaper per month than the two-month size.

Free Soul also delivers to Ireland and many European countries, with charges from £7.99 to £11.99 depending on where you live. Speak to your GP or pharmacist if you have any concerns about your health.
