The Happy Puzzle Company has been designing and selling puzzles and games since 1992. Founded by Gavin Ucko and based in Elstree, Hertfordshire, it creates many of its own games in-house, the best known being The Genius Square, and stocks titles from brands such as Asmodee, Clementoni, SMART Toys & Games and Thames & Kosmos. It also runs puzzle workshops in schools and says it has worked with more than 13,000 of them. Orders go out from a warehouse in Wrexham on a tracked Royal Mail service.

The shop suits families looking for a game night idea, grandparents after a present that is not another plastic toy, and puzzle fans who like logic games, escape rooms and murder mysteries. You can shop by age from toddlers to adults, and there is a range of made-to-order jigsaws for personal gifts.

What's worth a look

  • The Genius Square, currently £19.99. Roll seven dice to place the blockers, then race to fill the rest of the grid with nine coloured shapes. There are 62,208 possible puzzles, and the company says every one can be solved. It works for two players or solo against the clock.
  • The Traitors Board Game, currently £26.99. Based on the TV show, for 4 to 6 players aged 12 and up, with missions, gold for the prize fund and a final choice to split or steal.
  • Taskmaster Advent Calendar 2026, currently £29.99. Twenty-four days of tasks and puzzles, where each solved task tells you where the next door is hidden. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
  • Postcode Jigsaws, from £33.99 for a 255-piece aerial map puzzle centred on a postcode of your choice, with 400-piece versions and other map styles. These are made by hand to order and cannot be returned unless faulty.
  • Taskmaster Escape Room, currently £19.99. A boxed escape room game based on the same TV show, and one of several escape room and murder mystery titles in the new autumn range, alongside Cryptic Killers and Exit puzzles.

Current offers

  • The clearance sale has games, crafts and jigsaws at up to 80% off while stocks last.
  • Sign up to the email list and you get 5% off your first order.
  • Free delivery on UK mainland orders over £60. Below that, standard delivery is £3.95.

How to save more

  • The £60 free delivery threshold applies after any discount, so if a code takes you just under it, adding a small pocket money game can work out cheaper than paying postage.
  • Look at the clearance page before buying full price, as it changes often and has included games marked down by 70%.
  • Order made-to-order jigsaws early. They can take up to 10 days and cannot be sent by next-day delivery, which costs £8.95 for other items.
