Heaven Skincare is the British brand started by facialist Deborah Mitchell more than 30 years ago. It's still made in the Shropshire countryside, and the range covers cleansers, hydrogel toners, serums, creams, masks and eye care, with a body range, a men's edit and plenty of gift sets. The brand says its skincare is fragrance-free and not tested on animals, and it encourages customers to send their empty jars back.

It's a premium brand, with some masks costing well over £90, so it suits people who already know they like salon-style skincare. It also suits gift buyers, and anyone happy to start small with the 10ml sizes before buying full-size products.

What's worth a look

Here are six products from across the range, from the bee venom masks to the low-cost travel sizes.

The Silver Bee Venom Mask is the first step in the brand's best-known range, which goes up through Black to Gold. If you'd rather not spend that much, the 10ml New Edition Cleanser and Orange Flower Hydrogel cost £10 each, so you can try the texture first.

Beyond the bee venom products, there are two other main ranges. The Collagen range includes the Collagen Serum Oil, which starts at £28 for 10ml, and the Nettle range is fully vegan. There's also a men's edit, a travel collection and gift sets. Gift cards and gift wrap are sold as separate items, which helps if you're sending a present directly.

Before you order, check the returns policy. You can send back unused, unopened items in their original packaging within 14 days of delivery, but opened skincare can't be returned for hygiene reasons. That's another reason to try the small sizes before you buy a full pot.
