Mr Farts is a small UK brand built around a cartoon character, a fart-sound app and a YouTube channel. Its online shop sells prank toys and branded clothing. It's squarely aimed at people who think whoopee cushions never stop being funny: children, teenagers and the friend who always wins Secret Santa. Prices are pocket-money to mid-range, which makes it handy for stocking fillers. The site also links to the Mr Farts app and an Alexa skill, so the joke carries on once the toys are unwrapped.

What's worth a look

• Ultimate Fart Bundle: currently £34.99 (prices can change). Four of the brand's toys in one box: the Mr Farts Plushie (which has a hidden compartment), the Fart Button, Fart Putty and the Giant Whoopee Cushion. Bought separately, those four come to £42.96 at today's prices, so the bundle is the better buy if you want the full set.
• Fart Button: currently £12.99 (prices can change). A big red button that plays 101 different fart sounds. It needs two AAA batteries, which aren't included, so add some to your basket. It suits younger pranksters, used with adult supervision as the store advises.
• Giant Whoopee Cushion (3-Pack): currently £12.99, or £5.99 for a single cushion (prices can change). Each reusable cushion is roughly 25cm across, and the store says they're made without BPA, lead or phthalates. The three-pack works out cheaper per cushion and splits nicely between party bags.
• Fart Putty: currently £8.99 (prices can change). Reusable green putty that makes the expected noise when you push your fingers into the pot. At under £10, it's an easy stocking filler.
• Clothing and merch: adult tees such as the Taco Farts and Reggae Farts designs are currently £19.99, the Mr Farts Hoodie is £39.99 and the Mr Farts Mug is £14.99 (prices can change). Youth and kids' sizes are also listed.
