NXTL is a travel eSIM with a different pricing model. Most travel eSIM sellers sell a fixed bundle for one country with a deadline, such as 5GB for 15 days. NXTL sells one reusable eSIM that works in more than 180 countries, and you pay for data from a prepaid balance. You're charged per gigabyte at the rate of whichever network you connect to, and anything you don't spend stays on your account with no expiry date. It's run by NXTL, MB, a small company registered in Vilnius, Lithuania.

It suits people who travel more than once a year, hop between countries on one trip, or want a cheap backup data line for when Wi-Fi drops out. It's data only, so there's no phone number, calls or texts. You keep your usual SIM for those and use WhatsApp or FaceTime for calls. Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked, so check the compatible devices page before you buy.

UK visitors see prices in pounds, and you can switch to US, Canadian or Australian dollars or euros. The base price is US$11.99 with US$10 of balance. All prices below were checked on 15 October 2026, and per-GB rates can change and vary by network.

The NXTL Global eSIM costs £9.05 for UK buyers. Of that, £1.50 pays for the eSIM and £7.55 goes onto your balance. At the lowest France rate of £0.53/GB, the site works out that balance at roughly 14GB. Its own example trip uses 2GB in France for £1.06 and 1GB in Turkey for £0.40, leaving £5.44 for next time. Japan is pricier at £2.01/GB, so check the Japan page before you rely on the starting balance there. Usage is billed in 1KB steps, so you never pay for a whole gigabyte you didn't use. Hotspot works too, but a laptop on your hotspot can get through data quickly.

How to save more

• Set the network preference to Cheapest in the app or My Account. Each country has several partner networks at different rates, and the one you connect to sets the price.
• Switch off data roaming on your usual SIM before you fly, so your home network's roaming charges don't kick in alongside NXTL.
• Keep the eSIM installed after your trip. Unused balance never expires, and deleting the profile can make it hard to restore.
