Parrot Essentials is an online parrot shop based in Teddington, south-west London, run by people who keep parrots themselves. It's been trading since 2010, and it stocks pretty much everything a pet bird needs: seed mixes and pellets, treats, toys, cages, perches, cleaning products and supplements.

It suits anyone with a bird, from a first budgie to a macaw. You can shop by species, with sections for African greys, Amazons, cockatiels, cockatoos, conures, lovebirds, Indian ringnecks and more. Foods come from brands including Tidymix, ZuPreem, TOPS and Bucktons, and there are seasonal toy ranges too. Right now that's a Halloween collection of pumpkin-themed shreddable toys. The shop also keeps an avian vets directory and a blog.

Standard delivery costs £3.99 and usually takes 3-5 working days. Priority delivery is £4.99 and next working day is £7.99 if you order before 3pm on a weekday. Most parcels go by Royal Mail Tracked or Parcelforce and need a signature. Highland, island and Northern Ireland postcodes pay £5.99 and miss out on free delivery, and some cages are sent direct from the supplier, which can add a surcharge in remote areas.

What's worth a look

Six things from the Parrot Essentials homepage, special offers and Halloween range on 9 October 2026.

The Seasonal Moulting Kit was the biggest saving we spotted. It bundles a Feather-Up supplement, a misting bottle, a cuttlebone and a preening toy, and it was down to £19.99 from £30.96. For something cheaper, the red millet sprays were £5.99 instead of £7.99, and the Halloween toys start at £6.49 for the Spooky Pumpkin Witch.

For everyday feeding, Tidymix Parrot Food Diet is a seed blend with no more than 10% sunflower seed. It comes in 1.15kg, 2.3kg and 4.6kg bags, and can go on a repeat delivery.
