Patrol Store has been selling kit online since May 2007 from its base in Crowborough, East Sussex. It was set up by former police officers, military personnel and security staff, and most of its customers still work in those fields, from door supervisors and police officers to cadets and prison staff. Walkers and anyone who wants hard-wearing boots or bags will find plenty here too.

The range runs to more than a thousand products. Boots make up a large part of it, from brands such as Magnum, Haix, Lowa, Altberg, Grafters and Kombat UK, and the rest covers tactical trousers, jackets, gloves, base layers, backpacks, duty belts and pouches, torches, first-aid kits, G-Shock watches and Plano cases. Teams and procurement departments can order through a dedicated corporate and bulk sales team.

What's worth a look

• Magnum Viper Pro 8.0 Boots: currently £84.99, down from £112.99. A popular lightweight duty boot in sizes 3 to 14.
• Haix Black Eagle Tactical 2.1 GTX Low: currently £104.99, down from £164.90. A low-cut Gore-Tex tactical shoe, though some sizes have already sold out.
• Op. Zulu Duty Kit Police Bag: currently £74.99, down from £89.99. A kit bag for carrying shift equipment, and one of the shop's better-reviewed items.
• G-Shock GA-2100-1AER: currently £99.90, against a listed £109.99. Casio's slim octagonal G-Shock in black.

We didn't find any public discount codes on Patrol Store's own pages; the scheme discounts are claimed through Blue Light Card and Defence Discount Service.

How to save more

• Use the price promise. If an in-stock item is cheaper at another UK retailer (Amazon and eBay excluded), email the link to [email protected] or call 0800 999 4411. Patrol Store will match the price and add free standard delivery.
• Get to £99 for free delivery. Below that, Tracked 48 costs £3.49 up to £15 and £4.95 above, while Tracked 24 is £6.95.
• Try boots on indoors and keep the tags on. Returns are accepted within 14 days (21 for BFPO addresses), but worn items aren't refunded, and £5.25 comes off the refund if you use the prepaid label.
