SAii Hotels & Resorts is the resort brand of S Hotels & Resorts, the hotel arm of Thailand's Singha Estate. The name comes from the Thai word for sand, and the brand has four resorts: three in Thailand, at Phuket, Phi Phi and Koh Samui, and one in the Maldives. The first, SAii Lagoon Maldives, opened in 2019, and the two original Thai resorts followed in early 2021.

It suits UK travellers planning a long-haul beach trip who want to book direct with the hotel rather than through a tour operator. Families have three of the four resorts to choose from, while couples get an adults-only option on Samui. Offer prices for the Thai resorts are shown in Thai baht, and rates marked "++" have service charge and taxes added on top, so budget for that when comparing.

What's worth a look

Here are the four resorts and two packages from SAii's own site that stand out.

SAii Laguna Phuket is the easy all-rounder. It sits between a lagoon and Bangtao Beach in the Laguna area, with rooms and suites facing the beach or the lagoon, several restaurants and an overwater club lounge. If you want somewhere quieter, SAii Phi Phi Island Village is set on a secluded 800-metre stretch of beach in Loh Ba Gao Bay, with bungalows, villas and hillside pool villas and good snorkelling just offshore.

SAii Koh Samui Villas is adults only, with private pool villas on Hanuman Bay about ten minutes from Chaweng Beach. Its Stay Longer & Save package starts from THB 4,900++ a night. In the Maldives, SAii Lagoon Maldives is part of Hilton's Curio Collection, and it runs its own Hilton Honors member offers. It's a 15-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport and has overwater villas, a kids' club, padel and diving.

Current offers

We already list several SAii deals: up to 15% off when you book early at Santiburi Koh Samui, a sister resort that SAii's booking terms also cover, up to 10% off early bookings at Phi Phi Island Village and Koh Samui Villas, and 30% off longer stays at SAii Laguna Phuket.

SAii's own offers page has more:

• Stay five nights or more at SAii Koh Samui Villas for 15% off with daily breakfast and airport transfers.
• Stay longer at Phi Phi Island Village for 30% off, with breakfast and shared speedboat transfers from Royal Phuket Marina. Book at least 14 days ahead; blackout dates run from 24 December to 8 January.
• Book early at Laguna Phuket for 10% off with breakfast, at least seven days before arrival.
• The Maldives Long Stay Offer gives up to 20% off rooms and villas from two nights, plus spa and dining discounts.

How to save more

• Think about transfers. The Phi Phi long-stay deal includes the speedboat from Phuket and the Samui five-night deal includes airport transfers, which can be worth more than the room discount.
• Many SAii offers are prepaid and non-refundable. Laguna Phuket's book-early rate allows one date change within 365 days, so read the terms before you pay.
• Join the free SAii DISCOVERY programme before booking. Members get at least 10% off rooms, 10% off dining and spa, and 4% to 7% back in DISCOVERY Dollars to spend on a later stay.
