The Fragrance Counter is an independent perfume shop from Adlington, near Chorley in Lancashire. It has been trading since 2009, is largely family run, and still has a high street shop on Chorley Road where you can try testers of everything it sells online. It describes itself as an authorised retailer, buying stock directly from the brands or their official UK representatives, so this is a place for genuine designer bottles rather than lookalikes.

It suits anyone buying a big-name perfume or aftershave, especially as a present. Gift sets are a strong point, most products show a saving against the list price, and gift wrapping is available for £6.95. Delivery is UK only, by Royal Mail tracked services, and Northern Ireland is included.

The range goes beyond perfume and aftershave. There are celebrity scents, body mists, skincare and male grooming, a growing vegan and organic section, and home fragrance in the form of candles and reed diffusers. A His and Hers page pairs matching scents from the same fragrance house, which is handy if you're buying for a couple or a wedding. Orders are usually processed within the hour during working hours, and those placed before 4pm (1pm on Saturdays) leave the same day.
