Toothfairy is a UK company set up and run by dentists, trading as Tooth Fairy Healthcare Ltd. Its online shop sells one main product, the Wand: a rechargeable sonic toothbrush with a detachable camera. Every few months you clip the camera on, take pictures of your teeth through the Toothfairy app, and one of the company's licensed dentists looks at them. It suits people who like gadgets, want brush heads delivered automatically, or find it hard to fit in check-ins between dental appointments.

What's worth a look

• Toothfairy Wand electric toothbrush and camera, currently £95 for the brush only, with the camera attachment included. It has five modes (Clean, Gentle, Power, White and Polish), charges by USB-C and, according to Toothfairy, runs for up to about 45 days on a charge.
• Wand plus 12-month membership, currently £118.88, shown against £186.86. You get the brush, a year of replacement heads posted every three months, dentist check-ins through the app, free shipping, a travel case and a wall magnet.
• Brush head and Dental Care Plans, currently £23.88 for 12 months (was £30) or £11.94 for 6 months (was £15). Each plan includes one brush head and one digital dental review every three months. A one-off two-pack of heads with no membership is £15.
• Hygienic travel case, currently £34.99, and the wall magnet, currently £14.99. Both are included free with the 12-month bundle.

Toothfairy says the Wand doesn't replace an in-person dental examination, X-rays or treatment, so keep up your usual dental visits. Speak to your GP or pharmacist if you have any concerns about your health.
