Valiryo is the brand of Valiryo Technologies S.L., an engineering company in Barbatáin, near Pamplona in northern Spain. Founded in 2013, it makes one unusual thing: air dryers that replace the bath towel. Its main product is a column that fixes to the wall inside your shower and dries you with air from head to toe. It designs and makes its products in the EU and sells them direct from its own shop, as well as on Amazon.

It suits people who are fitting out a new bathroom or wet room, and anyone who finds towelling awkward, such as people who struggle to bend or balance. Valiryo also sells to hotels, gyms and care homes. The UK shop shows prices in pounds, and the price includes delivery, taxes and customs, so there's nothing extra to pay when it arrives from Spain.

What's worth a look

Valiryo makes three products, each in a choice of colours. Here are six versions, with today's UK prices from its shop.

The Body Dryer is the flagship. It blows air through 27 diffusers along the column, switches on with a motion sensor and is rated IP56 for use inside the shower. It comes in matte white or matte black, in two heights: the Model 218 if you have at least 220cm of height to fit it, or the Model 195 for lower spaces. Valiryo's installation guide shows where it should go, and it fixes to the wall with screws, so plan where it'll sit before you order.

The Feet Dryer is a smaller unit for drying your feet without bending down, and the Hand Dryer is a touch-free design with UV light and a HEPA filter. Both come in black, white, green, pink and dusty grey.

Delivery, returns and warranty

Valiryo aims to send orders within 24 working hours, by couriers such as DHL or FedEx, and says most arrive within five days. The Body Dryer comes in two boxes, and the long column box can arrive a day after the other one. You can return items within 30 days if they're unused and in their original boxes. The FAQ says returns are currently free, but the terms say you may have to pay return postage unless the item is faulty, so check with Valiryo before you send anything back. Every product has a two-year warranty.

How to save more

• Check the boxes on arrival. Valiryo asks you to inspect the delivery straight away, even if you're fitting it later, so any transit damage can be claimed from the courier.
