WeBuyAnyPhone.com is a UK trade-in service for smartphones, tablets and smartwatches. You tell it what you've got and what condition it's in, and it gives you an instant price, even for broken or cracked phones. It suits anyone with an old handset in a drawer, people upgrading who want to compare with a network trade-in, and bargain hunters after a refurbished phone. The company, based in Whiteley near Fareham, says it has bought more than a million devices and paid out over £50 million.

Selling takes three steps. Search for your model and answer questions about storage, network lock and condition. Send it for free, using a QR code or printed label at the Post Office, a postage pack, or a collection. Then get paid: once the phone is tested and the offer accepted before 2pm, money goes to your bank the same working day. Quotes are held for seven days. If testing finds the phone in worse shape than described, you get a revised offer, which you can turn down and have the device sent back.

What's worth a look

The refurbished shop sells unlocked, data-wiped phones in four grades. These are the default prices shown for a 128GB model.

Prices change with grade, storage and colour. The iPhone 13 at £214.99 is the Good grade, with visible signs of use but full function. Premium grade promises at least 90% battery health, and every grade has at least 80%. Each phone is checked with Phonecheck software, comes with a 12-month warranty and can be returned within 30 days. You can also pay for a new battery or a 24-month warranty at checkout.

On the selling side, the site lists iPhones from the iPhone 12 through to the iPhone 17 range and iPhone Air, Samsung Galaxy S23 to S25 and Fold models, plus Google and Huawei phones, iPads and smartwatches. There's also a dedicated route for broken phones. Phones that can't be refurbished have their usable parts recovered, and the rest is recycled.

• When buying, compare a Good-grade newer model with a Premium-grade older one. The newer phone often gives more for the money if a few scuffs don't bother you.
