Zello: baby white noise machines and night lights from £22.99

Zello is a small UK brand that makes white noise machines for babies and toddlers, each combined with a soft night light. If you're setting up a nursery, trying to get naps to work in a bright room, or want something to take on holiday or in the pram, it's a focused shop where every product is built around the bedtime routine. Despite the name, it doesn't sell mattresses or beds.

The machines play white noise, fan sounds, nature sounds and lullabies, and most run on a rechargeable battery with 30, 60 and 90-minute timers or continuous play. Zello says the range was developed with UK sleep coach Emily McInnes, and it offers a free sleep guide with its machines.

What's worth a look

Here are the four machines and two of the nursery extras, at today's prices on the Zello site.

The Original at £29.99 is the one the shop calls its best seller for the home and nursery, with 30 sounds, a warm light plus seven colour options, and up to 50 hours from a charge. If you mostly need something for the buggy or the car seat, the Portable is £22.99 with 20 sounds and up to 20 hours of battery. The Portable Pro Max sits in between at £28.99 with the same 50-hour battery as the Original, and the YourVoice model (£32.99) adds the option to record up to four minutes of your own voice to play back when you can't be there.

For daytime naps in summer, the blackout window film cuts to size and sticks straight onto the glass, and the muslin comforter is a cheap add-on for a newborn gift.

Current offers

We don't have any Zello codes at the moment, and there are no discount codes on the site itself. The standing offers are:

• Free standard UK delivery by tracked Royal Mail, with same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2pm.
• A 14-day money-back guarantee on Zello white noise machines bought direct from the site.
• Free returns within 30 days if you change your mind, as long as the item and packaging are undamaged.

How to save more

• Pick by battery life rather than price alone. The Original and Pro Max last up to 50 hours on a charge, against up to 20 hours for the Portable and YourVoice.
• Add up the gift bundles before buying. The Newborn Essentials Bundle, for example, costs £68.95, exactly the total of the five item prices listed on the bundle page.
• Buy direct rather than through another shop if you want the money-back guarantee, as it doesn't cover machines bought on Amazon or elsewhere.
