4. Tips that work
When to post
- Straight away, then pin it in your group.
- Payday weekends, when lots of online shopping happens.
- Before Black Friday (late November) and in early December for Christmas shopping.
- At the start of the season, when families buy boots and kit.
- Whenever you share a fundraising total: people come back when they see it grow.
Make it easy
- Ask everyone to sign up on your page (free, no password). Their choice of Caerleon RFC Under 9s then follows them to every device.
- Put the link on your website, social profiles and in your email signature.
- Add the QR code to fixtures lists, programmes and newsletters.
- Thank people publicly when the total goes up.
5. How the money works
How much does the club get?
50% of the commission the shop pays us. Shops usually pay 2% to 10% of the order, so a £100 order typically earns £2 to £10, and Caerleon RFC Under 9s gets 50% of that. Thirty families shopping this way adds up over a year.
When is it paid?
Once the shop confirms the sale, after its returns period (usually 30 to 90 days). We pay confirmed donations once a year, to the account we agree with you.
Does it work with every shop?
It works with the shops on Voucher Magpie that pay us a commission, and we're adding more all the time. Supporters should start at Voucher Magpie and click through to the shop; going straight to the shop doesn't count.
What if someone returns their order?
Then the shop doesn't pay a commission on it, so there's nothing to donate. That's why we wait for shops to confirm each sale.
