About Ecotalk
Ecotalk is a UK mobile network that only sells SIM cards and eSIMs, not handsets. It was launched in 2018 by Dale Vince, the founder of energy firm Ecotricity, and is part of the Green Britain Group. Its registered office is in Stroud, Gloucestershire, where its customer service team is also based.
The idea is simple: rather than paying dividends to shareholders, Ecotalk puts the money from customers' bills into buying and rewilding land. It works with naturalist Chris Packham, its Chief Ecologist, on sites in East Sussex and Devon, where it has reintroduced beavers and is restoring woodland and wet meadow. Customers can follow progress through regular updates and live nature cams.
All plans run on 30-day rolling contracts with unlimited UK calls and texts and 5G as standard, and Ecotalk promises no annual price rises. You can keep your number with a PAC code, and support is by phone or email with real people rather than chatbots. It says it is powered by green energy and encourages customers to keep using their existing phones or buy refurbished.

Ways to save at Ecotalk
- Pick the 100GB plan while it is £12 a month for the first three months instead of £18.
- The Unlimited data plan is half price (£11) for the first month.
- If you rarely use data, the Just Talk plan is £6 a month and the 3GB plan £8.
